Helpful Information for Parents & Guardians

Our Swim Programme

Learning to swim is just like learning to write. First we scribble, then we form letters, then we make words, sentences, paragraphs, chapters and finally books.

Your swimmer is about to embark on a journey to master one of life’s most important skills.

In the UK we are surrounded by water, and we want our parent community to feel confident that their children are safe, knowledgeable and highly capable around water.

Our programme is structured into three terms per year. This allows every skill and stroke to be carefully planned into your child’s learning journey so that nothing is missed.

At Swim Superb, we don’t simply teach children how to get from A to B. We go beyond distance, teaching every skill meticulously so that your child develops into the strongest swimmer they can possibly be.

We teach 50 weeks of the year, providing children with the consistency they need for steady progression, with just a two-week closure period over Christmas.

Awards & Progress

Throughout our three-term programme, your child will have the opportunity to earn awards and celebrate their achievements.

We follow the Swim England pathway for our Parent & Child and Learn to Swim programmes, and the STA Rockhopper pathway for our SEND swimmers.

Our programmes have also been carefully designed around our many years of experience within the aquatic industry.

During each term, your child’s progress will be monitored by their teacher using Soakly, with updates provided at least every 5 weeks. This allows you as parents to easily track your child’s progress and see any badges they have achieved.

You can access your Soakly Parent Hub here:
https://swim-superb.soak.ly/#/sign-in

Awards and badges can be ordered at any time through our website. At the end of each assessment period, we will also send a reminder email so you can see the fantastic progress your swimmer has made.

Lesson Fees

Please note that once a booking has been made, you have 24 hours to pay your initial fee. If payment is not received within this time, your space will be released back onto our online booking system for other customers.

Once your initial fee has been paid, you will need to set up your monthly subscription through your Soakly hub.

To do this:

  1. Log into your Soakly account

  2. Go to Payments

  3. Select Payment Method and set up your subscription.

Lesson payments are taken on the 1st of each month.

Please note this is not a Direct Debit, therefore if there are insufficient funds in your account the payment may bounce.

Your monthly payment reflects the number of lessons scheduled for that month.

For example:

  • If there are 4 lessons scheduled, you will pay for 4 lessons

  • If there are 5 lessons scheduled, you will pay for 5 lessons

This means monthly payments may vary slightly throughout the year.

If a payment fails or remains unpaid, a £10.00 late payment fee will be applied to your account to cover costs incurred from our payment gateway.

If late payments occur repeatedly, Swim Superb reserves the right to:

  • Suspend access to lessons

  • Remove your swimmer from the course

  • Release the space to another family on our waiting list

  • Forward any outstanding or unpaid fees to a debt collection agency

We understand that occasional issues can arise. If you experience any payment difficulties, please contact our team as soon as possible so we can assist you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take my child to learn to swim?

Every child learns at their own pace. As a general guideline, swimmers typically progress through one stage approximately every 12 months.

How often will my child be assessed?

Teachers update your child’s progress every 5 weeks, with a formal assessment every 12–16 weeks.

During assessments and updates, swimmers may receive awards, certificates and badges which can be ordered through our website.

Why has my monthly payment increased?

Your payment reflects the number of lessons scheduled in that particular month.

For example:

  • 4 Saturdays in the month = payment for 4 lessons

  • 5 Saturdays in the month = payment for 5 lessons

  •

Can I receive a refund for missed lessons?

Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds for missed lessons, as our running costs remain the same.

Where possible, we will offer a catch-up lesson, provided:

  • The absence was logged 24 hours in advance

  • Availability allows for a catch-up space.

Catch-ups can only be taken after the missed lesson date.

When my child moves up a stage, will I need to change class times?

If the whole class progresses at the same time, the class time will remain the same and the class will simply move up to the next stage.

If your child progresses faster than their peers, we will offer you all available class options in the next stage.

In some cases, classes may become mixed-stage groups, but this only happens when:

  • Other swimmers have just a few skills left to complete

  • The group works well together.
