Don’t worry if your little one seems out of sorts, extra emotional, clingy, tired or just not quite themselves in their lesson.

There’s a LOT going on in those little heads right now. New classrooms, new teachers, new routines, new friends… and some very tired little bodies by the end of the day! 🥱

Our teachers know that this week might feel a little different. We’ll meet them where they’re at, give them the support they need and, of course, hear ALL about their week at school! 🩵

It honestly baffles us how often children come to us missing one of the most FUNDAMENTAL swimming skills…

Breath control 🤯

If your child can’t comfortably blow bubbles underwater, they’re only going to get so far with their swimming.

Why?

Because they’re trying to swim whilst holding their breath.

Imagine trying to play football or tig while holding your breath… exhausting, yeh? 😂

It should be simple:

💦 Breathe OUT underwater.
💨 Breathe IN above the water.

Yet we regularly have children transfer to us at Stage 2 and above who have never properly learnt this.

And without the fundamentals, progression eventually hits a wall.

So if you’re wondering why your child doesn’t seem to be progressing, check their bubbles first 👀

And if they’re holding their breath?

It might be time to jump ship 🙈

Come over to us. We’ll go back, fix the missing foundations and build them into the strong, confident, technically brilliant swimmer they’re capable of becoming 🚀
